Susie Schafer
Supervising Psychologist – M.Psych., C.Psych., RP
I am Susie Schafer, a Clinical Psychologist and Registered Psychotherapist practicing in Ontario. I provide clinical supervision and consultation to the Blue Shores Psychotherapists working with adults presenting with trauma, dissociation, neurodiversity, emotion regulation difficulties, and other complex clinical presentations.
I specialize in the assessment and treatment of complex trauma, dissociation, and neurodivergence in adults, and enjoy supporting clinicians who wish to deepen their competence and confidence in working with these often-overlapping presentations. My work is informed by an appreciation for the ways in which trauma, attachment, nervous system dysregulation, and neurodevelopmental differences can shape an individual’s experience of themselves, others, and the world around them.

I have a particular interest in helping clinicians navigate diagnostic complexity and differentiate among trauma-related symptoms, dissociation, autism, ADHD, personality adaptations, and other overlapping presentations.
As a supervisor, I strive to create a collaborative, reflective, and supportive learning environment in which clinicians can deepen their clinical skills, strengthen their case conceptualization, and develop greater confidence in their work. My supervisory style balances curiosity, practical clinical application, and professional growth while encouraging supervisees to integrate theory, evidence, and clinical intuition into their practice.
I am registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).
